Market research firm Tractica has announced a new subscription-based market intelligence service for the wearables industry. Called the Wearable Devices Advisory Service, it’s meant to provide what the company calls “independent and objective market intelligence and strategy insights” for companies involved in the burgeoning market.
In a statement announcing the new service, Tractica research director Aditya Kaul emphasized the crucial growth phase that the wearables market is embarking on, noting that it’s “moving beyond the early adopter stage, in which fitness trackers have dominated, and toward a more diversified mix of devices that will include not only smart watches but a variety of other connected tools to suit a variety of different use cases and applications.” That echoes a recent report from Tractica predicting a major boom in the industry as the Apple Watch brings smartwatches into the mainstream and other wearables follow suit.
Soon, the company suggests, wearables like smart clothing and other apparel using body sensors are going to become everyday consumer products, and the boom in demand is going to bring a lot of business activity into the field. And that will make a service like Tractica’s all the more valuable. The firm promises that the Wearable Devices Advisory Service will cover software, hardware, and services, and offer an in-depth look at the value chain with a range of supply- and demand-side factors analyzed and considered. A subscription includes access to 12 new reports per year, quarterly conference, calls, limitless Analyst Inquiry access, and more.
