WISeKey Promotes SVP to CRO Position

July 9, 2021

WISeKey will be looking to build up its portfolio of IoT security and identity solutions after promoting Cesar Martin-Perez to the role of Chief Revenue Officer. Martin-Perez is an internal hire, and will leave his role as the Senior VP for EMEA Sales to take over the new position.

WISeKey Promotes SVP to CRO Position

When he does so, he will replace outgoing CRO Ben Stump. Stump is leaving the company after successfully blending the WISeKey sales team with its arago counterpart after WISeKey moved to acquire arago back in November of 2020.

As CRO, Martin-Perez will be asked to guide the development and sale of the company’s various product offerings, which include semiconductors, digital identities, and applications that enable automation and other features. Those efforts will help boost WISeKey’s revenue as the company continues to expand internationally.

Martin-Perez himself has a background in electronics engineering, and is a long time veteran of the semiconductor industry. He has helped develop solutions for the medical, smart city, industrial, and defense sectors over the course of his extensive career.

“Cesar has proven to be an accomplished leader,” Carlos Moreira, WISeKey’s Founder and CEO noted, “His experience in selling complex solutions to global IoT markets will benefit the group and build upon WISeKey’s solid foundation, strengthen and expand geographic footprint, grow revenues, and improve profitability. Cesar is the ideal person to lead our sales organization as Chief Revenue Officer, thanks to his decades of experience leading sales teams in the semiconductor industry and microprocessor intellectual property licensing industry.”

WISeKey recently unveiled a new VaultIC microprocessor designed specifically for use in cold storage cryptocurrency wallets. Before that, it delivered a separate batch of microprocessors to Ensurity to power the latter’s biometric (and FIDO-certified) ThinC-AUTH security key. The company has also launched a new WISeCoin utility that helps authenticate connected devices during a digital transaction.
