California-based digital signal processing solutions provider CEVA has integrated iFLYTEK speech recognition software into its audio and voice DSPs, the company has announced.
For device makers, the integration offers an embedded voice processing solution that can reduce noise and echoes to let multiple microphones pick up voice activation signals. As CEVA VP Ran Soffer explained in a statement announcing the integration, it “offers a powerful solution for embedding intelligent voice applications into mass market consumer electronic devices.”
Soffer added that the companies will expand their relationship with further collaboration going forward.
News of the integration comes amid growing excitement over voice interaction as it becomes an increasingly central user interface for smartphones and various other devices associated with the emerging Internet of Things. Baidu and Conexant, for example, have just announced their own far-field voice interaction solution targeted at the same market.
For its part, CEVA says its DSPs can be integrated into a range of solutions, from wearables to smart home tech, and offer low power consumption and cost.
