“The smartphone features an FPC1035 sensor, the same kind of fingerprint sensor used in the recently launched LG V10 handset.”
A Fingerprint Cards (FPC) sensor has been tapped to bring biometric authentication capabilities to another new smartphone. The device comes from ivvi, a Coolpad subsidiary, and is called the XiaoGu Pro, according to a press release from FPC.
The smartphone features an FPC1035 sensor, the same kind of fingerprint sensor used in the recently launched LG V10 handset. As FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto has previously described it, the sensor “supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality” – key qualities for a contemporary smartphone employing fingerprint biometric authentication. And this isn’t FPC’s first integration with Coolpad, which also used an FPC sensor – the FPC1025 – in its recent Coolpad Shine.
It’s more good news for FPC as the company continues to enjoy a business boom from OEMs’ apparently surging interest in smartphone fingerprint sensor integrations.
