Expectations continue to build for wearable tech’s showing at the next Consumer Electronics Show. FashionWare is coming back for its fifth year, and will showcase a wide range of technologically-infused fashion.
CES 2016’s FashionWare Runway Shows will feature fashion-and tech-forward items like 3D-printed and LED dresses from Sylvia Heisel, iPhone-connected clothing from Ece Ozlap, biometric fitness-tracking sportwear, and more such innovations. Adding a bit of flash to the proceedings, former Project Runway contestant Nick Verreos is going to host the events, and the designers will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss their pieces.
FashionWare is produced by Living in Digital Times, a technology advocacy firm that is also organizing a number of wearables-oriented ‘marketplaces’ at CES 2016. It’s all part of an effort to promote what could be a huge market, with the CES audience likely to be particularly receptive to these kinds of innovative new products.
Commenting in a statement, Living in Digital Times president Robin Raskin asserted, “Mobile phones put technology in the palm of our hands, now, thanks to the convergence of fashion and technology, technology is at home on our bodies.”
