FIDO standards were a hot topic at this year’s Cloud Identity Summit, reports FIDO Alliance Senior Director of Marketing Andrew Shikiar.
In a new post on the consortium’s blog, Shikiar notes that numerous sessions at CIS, including a keynote address from Microsoft executives, focused on FIDO standards. FIDO’s own workshop also saw strong attendance, and the FIDO pavilion saw “heavy traffic and great conversations”.
The activity reflects the growth FIDO has seen in its membership and the number of products supporting its authentication standards. They’re poised to be of even greater importance going forward, with major policy directives like the EU’s PSD2 regulations starting to embrace strong two factor authentication.
CIS is likewise evolving; as Shikiar notes, the event is being rebranded as Identiverse for next year, though its concern with digital identity will remain the same.
