“…FPC emphasized that it’s the company’s first deployment with Spreadtrum, a China-based chipset maker focused on the lower end of the smartphone price spectrum.”
Fingerprint Cards technology is being used in a new smartphone from QiKU. The 360 F5 features an FPC1245 sensor.
In a statement announcing the integration, FPC emphasized that it’s the company’s first deployment with Spreadtrum, a China-based chipset maker focused on the lower end of the smartphone price spectrum. Commenting on the integration, FPC Business Line Mobile SVP Ted Hansson said Spreadtrum is “very strong in the low-cost segment,” adding, “This launch is a result of our increased focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 offering.”
This isn’t FPC’s first integration with QiKU, however, with the smartphone maker having used an FPC1025 sensor in its QiKU Flagship Ultimate device from early last year.
The FPC1245 sensor is the same model used in another recent device, Oppo’s F3 Plus. FPC says the 360 F5 is the 20th device to feature this model.
