The deal comes after FacePhi rebranded its flagship solution from its previous moniker, ‘Selphi,’ to its new name, ‘ME.’
A new contract will see FacePhi technology used for digital onboarding of Red Link customers in Argentina.
Red Link is an operator of ATM networks in the country, and evidently has extensive business ties: According to a statement from FacePhi, the new agreement, facilitated by regional partner Compusistem, will see FacePhi’s mobile facial recognition solution offered to “banks, companies and government agencies”.
News of the deal comes after FacePhi found its biggest client yet earlier this summer in the Argentinian subsidiary of ICBC, suggesting that FacePhi is intensifying its presence in the country. The deal also comes after FacePhi rebranded its flagship solution from its previous moniker, “Selphi”, to its new name, “ME”.
The agreement seems to reflect a growing enthusiasm for mobile and biometric technology in Latin America, with a recent GSMA report indicating that Argentina is among the region’s top three countries in smartphone penetration and 4G connectivity.
