Dynabook Americas Inc (formerly known as Toshiba America) has announced new additions to its Portégé X Series laptops. The 13.3-inch Portégé X30-G, 14-inch Portégé X40-G and 15.6-inch Portégé X50-G feature biometric authentication for security as well as new privacy features, and new Intel processors.
“The Portégé X Series is Dynabook’s premier collection of thin & light, high-performance business laptops,” said Philip Osako, vice president, marketing and engineering, Dynabook Americas, Inc. “These laptops feature the latest 10th Gen Intel Core Processors, Wi-Fi 6 advanced connectivity capabilities and new security options to create the ideal enterprise-grade laptop computer for the modern mobile professional,” he added.
The Portégé X40 comes with Dynabook’s new Dynamic Privacy Screen Technology that, when activated, narrows the field of view on the display so as to only be visible to the person looking directly at it.
All three of the Portégé laptops meet Microsoft’s Windows 10 Secured-core PC requirements — adding to Dynabook’s previous offerings to also meet this same standard — due to their use of the latest generation of Intel CPUs, the security features built into Windows 10, advanced identity protection, Dynabook’s proprietary BIOS, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, and an optional smart card reader.
The laptops can also be configured to support biometric authentication capabilities in the form of an integrated infrared camera for facial recognition, as well as the inclusion of a Synaptics SecurePad touchpad that has a fingerprint sensor embedded within it.
The new Portégé laptops will be available for pre-order in May and will begin shipping to customers in the second half of 2020, with starting prices of $1,329.99 for the Portégé X30-G, $1,299.99 for the Portégé X40-G and $1,399.99 for the Portégé X50-G.
