Amazon Web Services, Inc., (AWS) has announced several new major enterprise technology partners who have signed up for its services. These include Software AG, Onshape, TIBCO, and MicroStrategy.
AWS is the provider of AWS Cloud, a cloud platform that provides core infrastructure for independent software vendors’ SaaS solutions. In a statement, AWS VP Terry Wise explained that cloud computing is quickly becoming “the new normal for IT” and attracting companies that need cloud platforms offering “all of the infrastructure and platform services to support their current solutions as well as their future innovations.”
AWS, of course, offers just such a solution; Wise asserts that “AWS continues to expand the breadth of AWS services, and the depth of features within them, so that our ‘all-in’ ISV partners like MicroStrategy, Software AG, TIBCO, and Onshape can focus on delivering innovative solutions to their customers instead of managing infrastructure.”
Executives from AWS’ new partners all chimed in with support; MicroStrategy President Paul Zolfaghari said that going with AWS “was a natural decision,” while Software AG CTO Dr. Wolfram Jost praised AWS’ ability to “offer outstanding operational efficiency and the widest geographical footprint, enabling Software AG to focus on our core offering – building a highly differentiated, value-added solution for our customers across the globe.”
Amazon is increasingly embracing the digital future. The company recently launched a couple of new enterprises that would tentatively bring it into the smart home market, while its cloud platform service could prove useful for partners developing applications related to the Internet of Things.
