It was another varied week in mobile identity news, and that is once again reflected in the latest roundup of Mobile ID World’s top stories. But with a careful look, one or two key themes can be spotted.
The FIDO Alliance, for example, found its way into a couple of different stories. One of them concerned Secret Double Octopus, an enterprise-focused passwordless authentication specialist whose Octopus Authentication Server v.40 solution has officially been certified for compliance with the FIDO2 authentication standard:

FIDO itself also made headlines thanks to an event organized to raise awareness about digital identity and security in D.C. Presented in collaboration with the Better Identity Coalition, the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC), and the National Cybersecurity Alliance, the policy forum featured some high-level speakers, and attracted a lot of attention from Mobile ID World readers:

FIDO CMO Andrew Shikiar is also featured among a slew of other industry leaders who were interviewed on the show floor at Money20/20 USA, the world’s premier FinTech conference that took place in Las Vegas earlier this week. A roundup of these interviews garnered quite a bit of interest from Mobile ID World visitors:

And in keeping with the Money20/20 theme, one of the biggest selfie biometrics pioneers to attend that event, Jumio, also made a splash this week with its announcement of a fully automated customer onboarding solution:

Finally, some news in the world of wearables stands apart, with Huami’s announcement of a new smartwatch and fitness tracker attracting a lot of interest thanks in part to its Bio Tracker optical sensor for continuous heart rate monitoring:
