“Even beyond the plaudits of the SIA, HID Global has had a successful ISC West.”
All eyes are on ISC West this week, where FindBiometrics is reporting live from the exhibition floor and HID Global is garnering acclaim for its latest biometric solution. The iCLASS SE RB25F fingerprint reader, which was launched during the converged security trade show, was named a winner in SIA’s New Product Showcase in the category of “user authentication, identification, credentialing and management.”
“Our new reader has been singled out from a very large group of hardware and software products that use biometric and other authentication technologies along with credential management solutions across a wide variety of use cases,” said Harm Radstaak, Vice President and Managing Director of Physical Access Control Solutions, HID Global.
The iCLASS SE RB25F fingerprint sensor is based on Lumidigm multi-spectral imaging technology, according to HID’s Stephen Carney, who spoke to FindBiometrics on the ISC West exhibition floor. Multi-spectral fingerprint recognition – which scans the surface and sub-dermal layers of a fingerprint – is ideal for high risk applications, thanks to its high degree of accuracy. It also has an extremely wide range of applications, providing reliable authentication “regardless of environmental and skin conditions,” according to the company.
“The reader is also field-configurable over a network, and is designed to ease migration from traditional and existing fingerprint reader solutions,” said Carney in a statement announcing the award winning reader.
Even beyond the plaudits of the SIA, HID Global has had a successful ISC West. In addition to showcasing its cloud-enabled mobile credential technology, which has received a number of high profile deployments in recent months, the company launched a new cutting-edge Augmented Reality tool aimed at helping installers, integrators, consultants and specifiers.
