HID Global has released a new Account Certificate Manager (ACM) that will make it easier for organizations to issue and track employee certificates. To that end, HID HydrantID ACM is compatible with both private and Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) certificates, and can automate basic procedures like certificate installation and renewal.
HydrantID uses a Connector model to communicate directly with network endpoints. It offers support for Single Sign-On and multi-factor authentication protocols, and comes with user-friendly APIs that will allow the organizations to integrate the solution with their existing certificate and access infrastructure. The cloud platform is also available as a single annual subscription, which means that that infrastructure is consolidated under one umbrella.
HID Global believes that the solution will reduce the administrative burden on enterprise security teams. HydrantID is fully scalable, and allows operators to view their entire network from a single centralized location. From there, operators can issue, renew, and revoke someone’s access privileges, create workflows, and generate reports of network activity.
“HydrantID ACM solves difficult digital certificate lifecycle management problems by providing one secure and convenient cloud-based platform for organizational teams to easily access private Certificate Authority services managed by HydrantID on their behalf,” said HID Global SVP and Identity and Access Managing Director Brad Jarvis. “The platform also automates routines that secure a large and diverse ecosystem of network devices and applications.”
HID Global acquired HydrantID back in 2019. At the time, the company indicated that HydrantID’s portfolio would complement its own IdenTrust digital certificate solution, and it has since embedded IdenTrust into Keyfactor’s own certificate management platform.
