“In a statement announcing the MWC showcase, IDEX emphasized that its card solution does not require a battery or internal power source. “
IDEX‘s biometric payment card technology is being demoed live this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The showcase is thanks to XH Smart Tech, which IDEX teamed up with in October of last year. The company is one of the top five China-based smart card vendors by market shared, and is certified by China Union Pay, Visa, and Mastercard, among others.
It ordered IDEX fingerprint sensors last year for use in dual interface smart cards, which it’s now showcasing from stand 7B70 in Hall 7 of the Fira Gran Via.
In a statement announcing the MWC showcase, IDEX emphasized that its card solution does not require a battery or internal power source. It also asserted that it and XH Smart Tech “have been working closely together to accelerate deployment of biometric smart cards.”
The MWC showcase comes after IDEX announced a partnership with card integrator Goldpac at the end of January, the latest of multiple partnerships with China-based companies involved in the payment cards market.
