iPhone 7 Plus to Feature 3GB of RAM, Advanced A10 Processor

iPhone 7 Plus to Feature 3GB of RAM, Advanced A10 ProcessorApple’s next plus-sized iPhone is going to feature a whopping 3GB of RAM while slimming down to as little as 6mm in thickness, according to a new research note from KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo.

The iPhone 7 Plus and its 4.7″ counterpart the iPhone 7 will also feature an advanced “A10” processor, though it will only have 2GB of RAM to play with on the regular iPhone 7. Both mobile devices are expected to be launched next fall, in accordance with Apple’s usual release schedule.

As AppleInsider points out, Ming-Chi Kuo has a strong record in his Apple product predictions. For example, his assertion this summer that the iPhone 6S would feature pressure-sensitive “Force Touch” touchscreen sensors proved accurate, though that feature is now called “3D Touch”.

There’s still plenty of time to speculate about what other features the next iPhone will sport, particularly with the rise of mobile biometrics. The iPhone pioneered the smartphone fingerprint sensor, and now that competitors like Microsoft are taking things a step further with the infrared iris scanning of its new Lumia smartphones, Apple may be compelled to further enhance the capabilities of its next flagship devices.
