Goodix’s Board of Directors has selected Sandy Hu as the company’s new President. In her new role, Hu will be responsible for Goodix’s general management. She will be expected to make the company’s operations more efficient, and to help Goodix reach its development goals both in the short term and moving forward.
Hu has more than 20 years of experience in the integrated circuit (IC) industry, much of which was gathered during her time at Texas Instruments (TI). She worked in many different capacities at Texas Instruments over the years, most recently serving as the Vice President of Texas Instruments and the President of TI China. Before that, Hu held various sales and account management roles, the most notable of which is a stint as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing for TI China.
As President, Hu will report directly to Goodix Chairman and CEO David Zhang.
“Sandy is an outstanding leader. With her superior insight and good relationships with customers, she will drive our company’s continued expansion and penetration into new markets,” said Zhang. “On top of that, she has extensive management experience in building a customer-oriented team, managing a global team and cultivating talents.”
Goodix is best known for its optical in-display fingerprint sensor, which has appeared in multiple smartphones from some of the world’s top manufacturers. However, the company has been trying to diversify its portfolio in the past few months. The company acquired Germany’s Dream Chip Technologies to raise its profile in the automotive industry, and also placed its heart rate and blood oxygen sensor in smartwatches from RedMagic and realme.
