“The device features an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, as well as Goodix’s Smart Amplifier and its AudioCapture and VoiceExperience solutions.”
Goodix technologies once again have a prominent place in a new flagship phone from Vivo.
The recently announced Vivo X60 is perhaps most notable for bringing the Samsung Exynos 1080 5nm chipset to the consumer market. It also features a 6.56″ AMOLED display, a 4300mAh battery, and a triple-camera system.
As with other recent Vivo phones, Goodix’s contribution concerns the device’s biometric security and its smart audio capabilities. The device features an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, as well as Goodix’s Smart Amplifier and its AudioCapture and VoiceExperience solutions.
The Vivo X60 – and the premium version of the device, the X60 Pro – also features facial recognition technology for biometric face unlock, though it isn’t clear which vendor provided that aspect of the device’s biometric security.
For its part, Goodix previously provided its in-display optical fingerprint sensor technology last year’s X50 devices from Vivo. The smartphone maker is evidently happy with the performance of Goodix’s biometric technology as more devices from rival companies bring in-display fingerprint scanning to more consumers.
Vivo’s X60 smartphones are expected to launch in China on January 8th. It isn’t yet clear what the company’s plans are for a wider, international release.
