Nok Nok Labs has raised $8 million in funding from a Series D financing round, the company has announced.
The round of funding was led by Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, and saw the participation of all previous NNL investors.
In a statement announcing the latest funding, NNL explained that it will use the capital to meet partners’ demand for its S3 Authentication Suite, and to help deploy the solution in “the private and public markets including government, public safety and first responder agencies”. The company will also said the funding will help to “accelerate innovation” in its solution, suggesting some of the funds will go to R&D.
Motorola, meanwhile, indicated that going forward it will focus on bringing NNL’s multi-factor authentication platform to more clients in the public safety sector.
“This funding is strong validation of our commitment to provide modern authentication solutions to a variety of environments and verticals as we continue to execute on the FIDO vision of simpler, stronger authentication,” said Nok Nok Labs CEO Phillip Dunkelberger. “Motorola Solutions’ support will help us maximize the impact of our company’s solutions by protecting citizens, first responders and more. It is an exciting and critical new vertical to break into.”
Back in the summer of 2015, Nok Nok Labs also raised $8 million in the final stage of a Series C round that ultimately brought in $16.25 million.
