“…Rush University Medical Center, a Chicago-based academic medical institution, has signed on as a strategic development partner in the ACI project…”
Just in time for HIMSS 2019, Nuance Communications has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence-driven solution for the healthcare market.
Dubbed “Ambient Clinical Intelligence”, or “ACI”, the solution builds on the speech recognition technology of its Dragon Medical One cloud platform, which is designed to facilitate hands-free clinical documentation for healthcare professionals. This is still the focus of ACI, but it’s also enhanced with the addition of “assisted workflows, task and knowledge automation, and specialized ambient sensing hardware,” according to a statement announcing the solution.
The aim, Nuance said, is to empower healthcare practitioners “to focus on their patients instead of a screen” while still enabling high-quality clinical documentation.
Nuance also indicated in its statement that Rush University Medical Center, a Chicago-based academic medical institution, has signed on as a strategic development partner in the ACI project; and that it expects to proceed with a commercial rollout in “early 2020”, with ACI to be positioned as an extension to the Dragon Medical One platform.
In the meantime, Nuance will demo the solution at HIMSS 2019. The event is running February 11th to 15th, with Nuance to showcase from booth #3345 in Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center.
