Samsung will unveil its new Galaxy Note device on August 23rd, the company has announced.
Well it hasn’t quite announced it: In its stereotypically coy fashion, the company has only said that it will “reveal the latest member of the Galaxy family” at a media event on that date, with a graphic outlining a smartphone screen and a stylus. The stylus is, of course, the giveaway, with the Note line having distinguished itself with the peripheral.
The device is expected to feature an unusually wide aspect ratio, an AMOLED screen, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Many also anticipate an iris scanner, given that last year’s Note7 device was meant to pioneer the technology before it was ultimately recalled due to a safety issue, with this year’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge subsequently picking up the torch.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 8 in what it calls “the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked celebration” at New York City’s Park Avenue Armory, starting at 11 a.m. on the appointed day.
