The mobile security solution that Trustonic has developed for Samsung KNOX now has an SDK available for download, Trustonic has announced.
Trustonic for KNOX is designed to offer a highly advanced security platform for both app developers and service providers working with Samsung devices. It uses Trustonic’s TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) in concert with hardware security like ARM TrustZone to isolate and protect data from the rest of the Android OS environment – and it’s now embedded in Samsung’s newest flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge smartphones.
This is another big win for Trustonic; just a couple of months ago, the company partnered with smartphone maker Meizu to have its technology integrated into that company’s smartphones; and in April, it inked a similar deal with Good Technology that would see its technology used in Good’s EMM platform. The Samsung integration may be its most significant partnership yet, given that company’s prominence as a high-end leader in the mobile market.
It’s also a win for Samsung. Given that the company’s new devices feature fingerprint-scanning biometric security, with Trustonic’s TEE technology also included they may be some of the most secure mobile devices on the market.
