WISeKey has announced WISeCoin Cryptocurrency for Advertising, a solution designed to monetize consumer attention.
The solution revolves a kind of rewards points program in which partners reward customers for purchases and other transactions by giving them WISeCoins, WISeKey’s cryptocurrency. Those WISeCoins can in turn be spent on transactions with vendors that accept the cryptocurrency, or exchanged for standard currency through a cryptocurrency exchange.
WISeKey says that more than 3,500 brands are already using its WISeKey Digital Identities and Cryptographic Semiconductors for user authentication, and it’s now offering them the opportunity to appeal to customers with WISeCoin rewards. These brands span across “the automotive, consumer packaged goods (CPG), luxury goods, pharma, financial services, retail and travel industries”, according to a statement from WISeKey.
News of the solution comes on the heels of WISeKey’s announcement that iris recognition specialist IriTech is using its VaultC secure elements technology to help protect intellectual property pertaining to biometric government ID programs.
