Zwipe Targets Middle East with QPS Biometric Payment Cards Partnership

September 27, 2021

Zwipe Targets Middle East with QPS Biometric Payment Cards Partnership

Another card issuer is teaming up with Zwipe to bring biometric payment cards to the market more quickly. The company’s latest partner is Que Processing Services (QPS), which will specifically be targeting card markets in Asia and the Middle East.

To that end, QPS will be issuing cards that feature Zwipe’s Pay ONE biometric platform. Pay ONE utilizes fingerprint sensors from IDEX Biometrics, which allow people with a Pay ONE-powered card to authorize purchases with fingerprint recognition rather than a PIN.

Together, Zwipe and QPS are hoping to meet the growing demand for more secure and more convenient payment options. The partnership will streamline the rollout of the new cards, and is in keeping with QPS’ efforts to raise its profile in the Middle East. The company already offers physical and virtual card services several countries throughout the region.

“Modern payment solutions are disrupting the status quo,” said QPS Founder and CEO Vinay Kalantri. “Zwipe is a globally recognized biometric fintech company and our collaboration will provide differentiation and meaningful commercial value to our bank customers.”

“Partnering with well-known next generation payment processors such as QPS will be instrumental in accelerating the deployment of biometric payment cards to consumers and banks,” added Zwipe MENA General Manager Ramzi Saboury. “As QPS is enabling banks to quickly launch new and innovative payment programs, both partners see strong product and go-to-market synergies.”

The news builds on Zwipe’s prior success in the Middle East. The company recently entered into a Pay ONE partnerships with Middle East Payment Services and the Abu Dhabi FinTech start-up NymCard, and it has also received a follow-up order from the Beirut-based Inkript, which initially signed with Zwipe back in 2019. According to Zwipe CEO André Løvestam, Pay ONE has cleared all major technology milestones, and is only waiting on pilots and certification before moving on to large scale commercialization.
