Italy-based online gambling operator Sisal has become the latest company to embrace Jumio‘s end-to-end identity verification solution, which is now being used in Sisal’s operations across Italy, Morocco, and Turkey.
The company is using Jumio’s tech to verify the age and identity of new customers during the onboarding process, and to authenticate players when they’re requesting payouts of their winnings. It’s also being used to renew player accounts when their ID expires.
“We chose Jumio based on their reputation, the quality and performance of their solutions, and because they can help us deliver the best user experience for our players,” explained Sisal’s Senior Manager of Customer Operations, Silvio Carnevali. “With Jumio we’re further improving our customer experience, giving immediate feedback on identity verification results and reducing our manual efforts to very few cases.”
On that note, the companies say that since implementing Jumio’s solution, Sisal has cut the amount of time needed for identity verification by 80 percent.
It’s the latest sign of the utility of selfie-based biometric identity verification technology in the online gaming industry. Solutions such as Jumio’s saw early adoption in the space, and as regulators have made KYC requirements even more stringent in places like the European Union, Jumio has established itself as a key vendor of software solutions.
That’s part of the reason that Jumio, which offers identity verification solutions across a range of application areas, has its own Head of Gaming, Emeka Ezeyi. “Offering a great experience is essential to keeping Sisal’s players interested, and that experience begins with how a new player creates an account and continues whenever they interact with the platform,” Ezeyi commented.
