The research firm Envisioneering has a long and intensive process for selecting the companies that it recognizes with its awards for innovation and design. Five judges from North America and Europe narrow down the companies attending a ShowStoppers event presenting new products by comparing them in 26 categories of innovation over three weeks of careful deliberation.
Among this year’s eleven winners was AGNITiO’s KIVOX Mobile SDK: a post-password solution that allows for applications to leverage the company’s Voice iD for strong authentication. KIVOX has obvious uses in transaction protection and account access, requiring only that a user speak her pass phrase to have her unique voiceprint measured and matched.
Emilio Martinez, AGNITiO’s founder and CEO comments: “Digital fraud has become a global crisis that mobile technology leaders are moving rapidly to address. The AGNITiO KIVOX Mobile SDK can provide an immediate solution that requires no special hardware and leverages the simple and natural act of speaking into a smartphone.”
“This honor from Envisioneering is a testament to the hard work that has gone into making voice biometric authentication simple and secure,” concludes Martinez. The Voice iD biometric engine responsible for KIVOX is also at the heart of other award winning biometric solutions. Oberthur Technologies leverages the technology in its SESAMES Award winning “My Voice is My Password” which is also on display at this year’s MWC.
Another of the recognized winners at this year’s MWC 2014 ShowStoppers had strong authentication and identity management at its core as well. ImageWare was also a recipient of the award. AGNITiO’s KIVOX was recognized in the same manner by Envisioneering last month at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, indicating that the no-friction authentication method is maintaining it’s popularity in a year that has no shortage of biometric competition.
“The companies represented among this year’s winners are stepping up their tempo and pace of innovation,” explains Richard Doherty, Envisoneering’s research director and lead judge. “With a keen focus on mobile products, services and lifestyle, they weave together original ideas in hardware, software, services and versatility to benefit the life of the consumer.”
