Fingerprint Cards announced that its biometric touch sensors are now available for PC-based integrations last week, making good on previous suggestions that the PC market is an obvious area for the company’s expansion. In other fingerprint sensor news, Huawei launched its new Changxiang 6S smartphone, which features a Natural ID sensor from Synaptics.

Biometrics and Mobile Devices
According to new research form Acuity, 2016 was a year of massive growth for the biometric smartphone market. 2017 seems to off to a strong start in this regard too, if last week’s news can be any indication. Qualcomm’s newly announced mobile processor supports biometric security, a new partnership between iSign and AAEON is bringing biometric signatures to rugged tablets, and experimental patents from Samsung place an integral focus on biometric authentication.
